We seek ways that will help us
individually and communally love God with our mind, concern, and
being. We seek to be as caring for others as we are for
ourselves. We search for ways and opportunities to make
people feel comfortable in fellowship and to leave from us more
inspired and encouraged than when they came.
We desire and
attempt…
- To
be credible so nothing disturbs our peace of mind;
- To
speak of health, happiness, and prosperity in the presence of all we
meet;
- To make all our friends feel
important;
- To endeavor
making all enemies our friends;
- To gaze at the
bright side of everything and make optimism our motto;
- To
anticipate the best, labor for the best, and imagine the best;
- To be as wholehearted about the success of others as we are
about our own;
- To treat the blunders of the past
as springboards of experience for future success;
- To
have a positive countenance at all times and welcome everyone with a
smile;
- To give all our time improving ourselves,
having no time to pass judgment on others;
- To be
too selfless for worry, too courteous for anger, too dedicated to fear,
and
- To be too happy to permit the presence of
suffering in the world we live.
Our Vision
We have been passing the Chalice for 100 years in worship service to
remember God’s love for us and all who believe. We
continue to remember the past as we plan for the future. We
seek to find creative ways to make God meaningful for both youth and
adults. We want others to share ideas and creative opportunities with
us to make godliness an exciting endeavor for daily living.
Our ultimate vision is to make God a vital part of individual
lives so that families and the community at large will become an
influencing entity in establishing “His Kingdom on earth as
it is in Heaven”. Therefore, we are a church that extends to
all people, an opportunity for peaceful coexistence regardless of race,
creed, color, preferential orientation, or any other perceived or
recognized difference that may encourage discrimination.
Our
Mission
We want to provide a place where people can discern
who God is, what God does, how God acts. But, equally important, is how
a person individually and a people collectively, take steps to
faithfully fulfill the most often recited words in the church,
“Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done; on earth as It is in
Heaven”.
We continue to
struggle with “who we are” in reality compared to
what we “want to be” as God’s
people. We seek God’s best intentions for us and
others. We seek to give more and keep less. We struggle to
find our place in a world of “snatch and grab”.
We desire to be better than we are. We wrestle with
God’s Word. We attempt God’s Way.
We rejoice in God’s Hope for us. But in reality,
“We don’t always do it right, but we know
‘The One’ who does.” Therefore,
if you sense a similar tension between what is and what should be, than
join us in the journey to find a place set apart for God’s
Blessing.
